This is an interesting fact about me...
In all my years of playing keyboards, I've owned several keyboards.
Different models, different brands.
However, I JUST had a realization a few months ago....
I've NEVER bought myself a new keyboard.
NEVER. Every single keyboard I've every bought was used! I never stopped to think about that! But here's the thing.... It's not that I couldn't ever buy a new one.... I just never did it! I prided myself on getting deals, buying more expensive models at deep discounts. But here's the thing I realized...
A "cheap" mentality can run deep, and you have to break it!
So, I bought myself my first ever brand new keyboard!
The Nektar Impact LX88+ is a monster MIDI controller! But getting it was more about me breaking a long pattern of limited thinking. There's nothing wrong with getting deals and being frugal. But internally, I started glorifying the concept of thrift and frugality over the fact that GOD is BIG and takes excellent care of His children!
Also, it's a matter of stewardship. If I really appreciate the gift God has placed in me, I need to be willing to invest in growing it. And having the right gear / equipment is essential in growing as a musician! So this is just an all around growth step for me!
Sooooo.... my next "growth" step is below..... c'mon now Jesus! hehehe!
For my keyboard geeks.... here's a quick history of all the keyboards I've ever had! Enjoy!
